Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit. 

Join our team as the Compliance and Quality Manager. Working with the Director of Compliance and Quality as well as a team of peer auditors and compliance and quality coordinators, this position is responsible for the training, development and implementation of the Corporate Compliance Programs and the training of new employees in documentation. The Compliance and Quality Manager will complete and oversee chart review for a variety of purposes and identify areas requiring further education and follow-up for clinical field providers.

  • Annually reviews and updates the Compliance and the HIPAA manuals
  • Ensures annual compliance and HIPAA training is completed company-wide; conducts new hire compliance and documentation training while maintaining logs of all training
  • Executes and tracks Business Associate Agreements when necessary
  • Completes compliance audits and participate in annual risk assessment as assigned by the Compliance Officer
  • Maintains charting signature logs for all markets/companies
  • Assists with the investigation and reporting of all alleged protected health information breaches for all markets/companies
  • Maintains tracking of and communication with employees regarding mandated reporting incidents (DCFS, Elder Abuse, Nursing Home Neglect, etc) for all markets/companies
  • Serves as a point contact for the receipt of employee subpoenas between requesting agencies and employees for all markets/companies
  • Pulls the ePCR and saves in the compliance drive for crew if necessary
  • Participates in reviewing and cleaning monthly data for key performance indicators in all markets/companies as directed by the Director of Quality Improvement and Compliance
  • Trains new employees in documentation expectations up to four times monthly during new employee onboarding for all markets/companies
  • Oversees the clinical operational component and care concern investigation of the Peer Documentation Audit in all markets/companies
  • Completes chart audits for any assigned clinical quality audit in all markets/companies (includes, but not limited to, new employee audit, newly licensed paramedic audit, peer audit, DEI audit, system required audit, critical care audit, etc.) as directed by the Director of Quality Improvement and Compliance
  • Develops, tracks, assigns, and ensures completion of the revision process related to identified clinical protocol fall-outs or care concerns in all markets/companies
  • Assists with the development and implementation of clinical training programs via collaboration with the Director of the Training and Research Institute
  • Serves as a member of the Race to the Top committee
  • Identifies, outlines, and prepares monthly clinical care case studies for presentation to field staff in all markets/companies
  • Oversees task delegation and completion/work performance of peer auditor staff and Quality and Compliance Coordinator staff
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Improvement and Compliance

 

Qualifications

  • Valid high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Illinois Department of Public Health Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Licensure or Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse Licensure (or the ability to immediately obtain upon hire).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Minimum of five years of advanced life support (ALS) experience in a high-performance system.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a critical care provider evident by completion of an accredited collegiate pre-hospital critical care program or through professional critical care certification through FP-C, CCP-C, CTRN, or CFRN.
  • Maintenance of practice in good standing at a CCT level in a minimum of one AMT respective EMS system (PAEMS, MEMS, ECIEMS, Trinity) within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of a minimum of an associate degree within two years of hire.
