Are you ready to make a difference and save lives? LifeShare Network is looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Tissue Recovery Coordinators. In this critical role, you'll be at the forefront of tissue recovery, ensuring a safe and sufficient supply of tissue products. You'll work with a dynamic team, engaging in life-changing work every day.

 

What You'll Do:

As a Tissue Recovery Coordinator, you will be responsible for performing the recovery of musculoskeletal/connective tissue, skin, heart valves, veins, corneas, and other tissues as determined by management. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Leading or assisting a team in tissue recovery procedures
  • Managing supplies, chart documentation, and shipping tissues
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable standard operating procedures, regulations, and policies
  • Maintaining confidentiality and respect for donors and their families
  • Performing quality control practices and participating in continuous quality improvement
  • Attending departmental meetings and completing required training
  • Traveling as needed by personal auto, charter, or commercial aircraft

 

What You Should Know About the Schedule:

This position requires the ability to work 24-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Team members must commit to working at least three shifts per week, which includes participation in a weekend rotation. Flexibility and dedication to the role are essential to meet the needs of this life-saving work.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma (associate degree in life sciences, certification in surgical technology or paramedic, two years in healthcare or mortuary/forensic fields preferred)
  • Certification as a Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) is preferred
  • Experience in tissue recovery, sterile techniques, and surgical procedures
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively with medical professionals, including hospitals, OPOs, medical examiners, and funeral homes
  • Self-motivation and the ability to handle a demanding call schedule
  • The ability to remain calm and efficient in highly stressful situations
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
