As a member of our team, you will office out of Saint Francis Hospital and join a dedicated group committed to transforming lives and strengthening our community.
What You’ll Do
As an In-House Coordinator, you will take on a rewarding blend of roles:
Daily Responsibilities
- Conduct rounds, checking in with nurses on active referrals.
- Maintain a flexible schedule: 4 – 10-hour shifts a week, 8 AM–6 PM, with rotating weekends.
- Provide education and in-service training to new nurses.
- Report on quality indicator metrics to ensure excellence.
- Organize annual education events with physicians.
- Coordinate all donation cases during and after recovery.
- Facilitate clinical evaluations with ICU staff to assess potential donor patients.
- Engage with families about organ donation, offering guidance and emotional support through the process.
- Facilitate memory-making activities, honor walks, and flag ceremonies to honor donors.
- Communicate outcomes and feedback with hospital staff to foster learning and process improvement.
Key Duties
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with hospital contacts.
- Coordinate and execute impactful educational activities.
- Implement strategic plans to improve donation performance.
- Sustain best practices for donation processes within the hospital.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to preserve donation options.
- Present donation options to legal next-of-kin and provide family support.
- Obtain authorization for organ and tissue donation.
- Communicate effectively with families, ensuring compassion and clarity throughout the donation process.
