Position Summary Statement:

 

Reporting to Chief Development Officer, the Resource Development & Marketing Assistant will support the organization’s fundraising efforts and marketing strategies with a focus on donor communication and social media management as well as routine office tasks. The ideal candidate is passionate about nonprofit work, skilled in database management, digital marketing, and has experience in managing social media platforms. This role is integral to driving engagement with supporters, donors, and the broader community, as well as enhancing the organization’s visibility; This position has no direct reports.

Here's What You'll Be Doing:

 

Fund Development Support:

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of fundraising campaigns, including digital and in-person events.
  • Support the development team with donor research, tracking contributions, and maintaining donor databases.
  • Help prepare reports and donor communications, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify new fundraising opportunities.
  • Actively engage with our donors—acknowledging their support, addressing their concerns, and fostering deeper connections that translate into long-term loyalty.

 

Marketing and Social Media Management:

  • Develop, schedule, and manage content for the organization’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Monitor and respond to social media interactions and messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analyze and report on social media engagement and performance metrics.
  • Assist in creating visual content (graphics, infographics, short videos) for social media, newsletters, and the website.
  • Coordinate and maintain a content calendar for social media posts, email newsletters, and other digital marketing activities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies for growing the organization’s online presence and community engagement.   

                                                                                                                     

Storytelling and Content Creation:                                                                                                          

  • Assist in uncovering curating, and crafting stories that resonate with a wider audience. This role would ensure we are constantly sharing fresh, engaging content to attract new donors, partners, and volunteers, while keeping our current supporters inspired and informed.
  • Assist in drafting marketing copy, press releases, and campaign materials for both online and print media.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the Arc’s website content.
  • Support the design and distribution of email marketing campaigns.

 

Qualifications

You Are Our Ideal Candidate If You:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience, particularly in marketing, fundraising, and social media management is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proven experience in social media management (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and the ability to respond to all the inquiries, comments, and messages in a timely, professional manner.
  • Ability to analyze social media and marketing metrics and provide recommendations for improvement, especially social media trends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keen interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all level of the agency.
  • Familiarity with fundraising and marketing strategies, particularly in a nonprofit environment.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) and social media tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of donor management software (CRM) is desirable, but not required.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a passion for social impact.
