What You Will Do:

The Development Assistant reports to the Director of Development Operations and will support NatureBridge’s fundraising efforts through data entry, research, department support, preparation of materials and donor stewardship. They are a critical member of a nine-person Development and Communications Team. This position provides opportunities to learn and develop skills across a broad set of development responsibilities including both individual and institutional giving. 

 

This position is fully remote for a person living near one of our established campuses in the Seattle or San Francisco Bay Area.

Your primary job will be to:

  • Perform, research and contribute to strategies for prospective individual, corporate and institutional donors as needed
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with corporate donors and prospects, including solicitations and stewardship
  • Provide logistical support for all events including fundraising and cultivation events including vendor management and venue arrangements
  • Prepare materials for donor meetings, draft donor communications; Support donor appeals plan and mailings
  • Draft grant renewal applications for some long-term NatureBridge funders under the direction of the Director of Institutional Giving
  • Assist the Director of Development Operations in board support. This includes administrative tasks, scheduling, logistics, standardizing board processes, list management and consistent data review; Support board governance with record keeping and reporting
  • Create and maintain donor records in the donor database; assist with gift processing and timely documentation filing
  • Assist with database administration, including data entry, database imports and routine analysis
  • Support donor stewardship projects
  • Assist with departmental communications, including assisting with updating the weekly gift log, informing staff of gifts, and sending tax acknowledgement letters to donors
  • Administrative responsibilities and other related job duties as assigned

 

Compensation:

  • $21-22/hr, depending on experience

Qualifications

Who You Are:

We are looking for candidates who have:

 

  • Two to three years’ administrative experience, preferably in nonprofit or development related work 
  • Previous data entry and database experience, Raiser’s Edge experience a plus
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills for preparing reports and donor materials 
  • Able to track details in database management and production of donor materials
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
  • Strong judgment and discretion, ability to maintain strict donor confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
