Larson Texts is looking for a highly motivated Web Developer II in the Technology department. 

General Purpose of Position:

The Web Developer II reports directly to the Technology Department Head. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform front end and back end development and maintenance on web and mobile products.
  • Lead development of digital products as required.
  • Provide guidance to developer team members as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop secure, high traffic web sites and applications using modern web programming languages and techniques.
  • Perform front-end and back-end web development.
  • Perform maintenance on web sites and servers.
  • Analyze and improve website performance.
  • Research and apply modern web development trends and techniques.
  • Ensure web site functionality across multiple browsers and platforms, including mobile.
  • Lead development of digital products as required.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to developer team members.
  • Collaborate with team members to estimate and inform product plans.
Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Equivalent work experience also accepted.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS and Angular
  • Experience with Git and code repositories
  • Experience developing with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and database-driven content
  • Experience with content management systems such as WordPress or SilverStripe
  • Experience configuring and administering Linux web servers
  • Knowledge of best practices in web data security
  • Knowledge of user-centered and responsive design techniques and best practices
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform accessibility and compatibility
  • Experience integrating third-party systems, including single sign-on (SSO)
  • Experience with learning management system (LMS) and IMS Global technologies preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
