DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Dishwasher include cleaning and sanitizing according to established policy and procedures, as well as maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, all in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the administrator, dietitian and/ or food service supervisor or Food and Dining Director. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
The following job functions have been determined to be essential to the position of Dishwasher. Because of fluctuations in workload demands, as well as tasks often overlapping, frequency ranges and percentages vary by assignment, day of week, day, evening or night shift, etc. However, low frequency and percentage or duration of time spent on a particular task may not indicate lack of importance. - Cleaning all dishes, pots and pans, following all facility policy and procedures
- Ensuring restrooms are clean and well stocked
- Ensuring floors are clean and dry
- Emptying all trash cans in kitchen area as needed
OTHER
In addition to the essential job functions described above, the following job functions are important to the proper fulfillment of the duties of Dishwasher.
- All duties assigned by the chef, sous chef or lead utility person
- All duties in the dining manual
- All other duties assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
For the safety, health and welfare of the residents, employees and others, the Dishwasher will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The Oaks of Clearwater requires the dishwasher to have a minimum of six months dietary experience working in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility.

- Mops
- Brooms
- Rags
- Miscellaneous kitchen appliances and equipment
- Miscellaneous supplies
PHYSICAL STRENGTH REQUIRED
A Dishwasher must be capable of lifting a minimum of fifty pounds.
The Oaks of Clearwater has determined that performing the essential functions of the job of Dishwasher requires minimal strength and agility for most routine tasks.
