Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and wellbeing for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity, and respect.

 

Horizons This program, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is a CARF accredited, intensive short-term inpatient program for individuals struggling with addiction or co-occurring with addiction and mental health. Clients consist of males aged 18 or over with a substance dependence disorder, including those receiving or in need of medication-assisted services for opiate addiction. Psychiatric services are provided on-site. Post-discharge referrals are made to a variety of housing resources as well as outpatient addiction and mental health services. Clients who complete successfully are encouraged to become members of the alumni group in order to offer hope to those who are beginning the recovery process.

 

Shifts Available 

Tuesday- Saturday from 4:00p to 12:00a  

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts screening, intake, orientation, and assessment of clients to obtain information concerning their substance and medical history or other pertinent information.
  • Implements therapeutic treatment using approved methods of planning, counseling, case management and crisis intervention to assist clients in overcoming substance abuse disorders and other problems.
  • Utilize appropriate methods of effective monitoring and documentation in regard to medication management, money management, safety/security checks of building, laundry facility, office and bathrooms.
  • Facilitate groups as assigned. Document behavior and interventions observed, discussed and assessed in group and/or meetings.
  • Consults with medical doctor or other specialists concerning treatment plan and amends plan as directed.
  • Provides information and education to individuals and groups concerning substance and mental health disorders (co-occurring disorder).
  • Refers clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.
  • Prepares and maintains records on assigned caseload and issues reports.
  • Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Qualifications

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Master's degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years experience in counseling preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience (licensed and license eligible encouraged to apply).
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the care of clients.
  • Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social and economic effects of substance abuse, homelessness, medical and mental health issues.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

  • Incumbents may be required to secure professional behavioral health license.
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license may be required.
