Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and wellbeing for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity and respect.

 

New Prospects - located in Bridgeport, Connecticut is uniquely positioned to offer gender-specific co-occurring enhanced intensive residential services to adult men and women. This program is designed to provide services for individuals who are experiencing difficulties stabilizing their substance abuse and mental health issues and seek short-term intensive treatment of approximately 30 day

 

SHIFTS AVAILABLE

Saturday and Sunday 8am - 4pm 

Saturday and Sunday 4pm - 12am

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • May conduct screenings, intakes and integrated assessments of clients to obtain information concerning substance use, mental health, medical history and all other pertinent information.
  • Conducts therapeutic treatment utilizing best practices of counseling, case management and crisis intervention in assisting clients toward the recovery process.
  • Conducts observed self-administration of medications as per medication orders and documents all on MAR.
  • Consults with immediate supervisor and program managers as necessary and communicates essential information related to client care in log book, individual progress notes, and with co-workers on-site.
  • Understands group dynamics/processes, facilitates groups with a focus on integrated care and documents efforts via individualized group notes.
  • Covers meals, smoke breaks and laundry with clients.
  • Provides information and education to individuals, groups and families concerning COD.
  • Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications

CORE COMPETENCIES

Masters degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years experience in counseling clients with substance use, mental health, legal and trauma issues. License eligible preferred.

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the clinical care of clients. 
  • Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social and economic effects of substance abuse, homelessness, medical and mental health disorders. 
  • Knowledge and experience in the provision of evidence based integrated care. Knowledge of community resources.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Ability to project a professional image.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES  

Incumbents may be required to secure professional certification and/or license (e.g. CAC, SCCD, CCDP).  Experience in the provision of integrated co-occurring treatment.  Valid Connecticut driver's license required.
