Position Overview

As part of the Corporate Sponsorship team in Walton Arts Center’s Development department, the Sponsorship Coordinator provides administrative and project support to increase organizational contributed revenue.  


Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Assist Corporate Sponsorship team in meeting goals for contributed revenue, including but not limited to prospect research, gift processing, contract fulfillment, recognition, booking sponsor tickets and stewardship
  • Coordinate in-kind sponsorship program, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and communication with sponsors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders and sponsors, as well as professional working relationships with teammates and staff members from other departments
  • Maintain funder and sponsor information in Tessitura, WAC’s ticketing, and donor database
  • Participate in team strategy development, goalsetting, and budgeting
  • Perform duties as assigned for special fundraising events
  • Provide administrative support for the Development team, as required
  • Represent Walton Arts Center / Walmart AMP at both on and off-site events, as requested
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education, Experience, Training, Traits

  • Combination of relevant education and/or professional experience, with education/experience in fundraising, communication, customer service or other related fields; nonprofit experience is not required but a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with relationship management software or database management a plus
  • Interest in and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including funders, sponsors, and donors
  • Strong analytical skills and/or strong interest in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Detail- and process-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to handle personal and sensitive information confidentially
  • An on-going desire to learn and improve
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Must be able to work extended, evening, and weekend hours in WAC and AMP donor/sponsor lounges and for special events as required
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
