The Chemistry & Biochemistry Department at Iona University welcomes enthusiastic and motivated applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of biochemistry. The Assistant Professor will teach biochemistry courses for science majors as well as courses in related areas. Experience in the areas of biomaterials or bioanalytical chemistry is a plus. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate chemistry courses; working within a collaborative instructional team; establishing a productive line of scholarly research; mentoring undergraduate students; fostering diversity in the chemical sciences; service to the academic community.

Qualifications

Minimum required qualifications:

A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or related area; at least one year of relevant postdoctoral, academic, or industrial experience; at least two semesters of experience teaching in undergraduate courses.
