Salary range: $27-37/hour based on experience

Position Summary:

Bio-Techne’s Protein Platform Division is looking for a Research Associate with a motivation to participate in the growth of a fast-paced company engaged in cutting edge biological research.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work with other members of the Reagent production team to make great products, performing tasks involving plate filling, labeling, vialing, and finishing materials. Operation of semi-automated liquid dispensing equipment is integral to the job.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-8+ years of experience in a hands-on, wet bench manufacturing support related position in the chemical or biotech industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical leader for compounding processes.
  • Provides training, coaching, and guidance to lab technicians.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision on moderately complex tasks
  • Prioritizes own work to meet deadlines and complete multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to be analytical and predictive on processes based on experience
  • Demonstrates an extensive technical knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively across groups and sites
  • Independently takes on additional responsibilities of a complex nature outside of day-to-day work
  • Critical thinking and independence recognized by peers and leadership
  • Utilize knowledge and prior experience to troubleshoot and resolve issues for self or others
  • Recognized by peers and leaders as a problem solver and resource
  • Consistently meet product cycle times and quality expectations
  • Write appropriate lab protocols with capability to draft and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory awareness of chemical handling and hazards, compliance, and proper use of equipment
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written English)
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to handle heavy items (5-50lbs)

Other beneficial skill sets

  • Previous experience with Immunodetection techniques, specifically Western Blotting.
  • Previous experience with handling protein solutions.
  • Previous experience with protein labeling.
  • Previous experience with lyophilization process.
  • Experience in an ISO or GMP environment.
