Position Summary: 

The responsibilities of a Manufacturing Technician are to support the laboratory staff with the process of building and manufacturing science products. This position will perform a variety of tasks within a laboratory setting that may include labeling, recording data, operating equipment, formulation and plate coating.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Set up and build product of low up to moderate complexity
  • Compile, analyze and report on data of low to moderate complexity
  • Ensures proper function of equipment
  • Perform laboratory maintenance and minor equipment repairs
  • Ensures proper function, calibrate and operate semi-automated manufacturing equipment
  • Make non-critical decisions based on data or results of work
  • Demonstrates EPIC values in daily work
  • Communicate effectively across groups and coordinator with service providers
  • Understand appropriate lab protocols with capability to draft and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory awareness of chemical handling and hazards, compliance, and proper use of equipment
  • Research the history of a product and suggest adjustments to the parameters within guidelines
  • Propose and Implement process improvements
  • Troubleshoots issues arising in daily work based on prior experience
  • Consistently meet product cycle times and quality expectations
  • Utilizes relevant internal databases effectively
  • Executes weekly schedule with minimal direct supervision and a commitment to safety
  • Receives detailed instructions on new tasks
  • Collaborates on projects of low to moderate complexity
  • Participates in training employees

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Associate degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Or, Bachelor degree with 1-3 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Work independently with minimal supervision on moderately complex tasks
  • Prioritizes own work to meet deadlines and complete multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to be analytical and predictive on processes based on experience
  • Knowledge of multiple processes or products
  • Demonstrates good to strong technical knowledge
