As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will serve as a role model and advocate assisting peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their recovery process.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Walks clients individually through the AA 12 Steps
  • Facilitates client classes and recovery focused process groups
  • Works with clients to maintain stability in their recovery and achieve outcomes
  • Builds close and durable relationships with clients
  • Serve as a spiritual mentor in a client’s recovery process
  • Support a client’s family relationships throughout their stay in our program
  • Relates personal experience in recovery in order to coach clients towards their own progress
  • Guides the activities that contribute to client success and completing goals
  • Utilizes motivational techniques to hold clients accountable and challenge them to excel
  • Collaborates and communicates regularly with interdisciplinary team and clients to ensure client success
  • Prepares and produces individual reports, upholding a high standard of data integrity
  • Documents clients progress utilizing client management systems
  • Assists clients in arranging transportation and driving as needed
  • Coordinates client attendance for internal and external activities

Position Requirements:

  • Georgia-certified Peer Specialist (CPRP), CARES or CADC certification, or willing to obtain
  • 3-5 years of abstinent recovery
  • Personal experience with long-term recovery
  • Demonstrated experience coaching as a peer in recovery on a one-on-one basis and group setting
  • Familiarity with Alcoholics Anonymous 12 steps
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a personal coach on a one-on-one basis and group setting

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, walking or sitting)
  • Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10lbs

 

Special Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
