REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Organization Services is a mid-level leadership role and a key member of the eam, working alongside the Director of Programs and reporting directly to the  Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This role is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the organization, overseeing internal operations and providing direct support to the CEO. This position manages staff, supports grant-related activities, maintains building operations, and oversees the D2S Micro Transit Program. The Director ensures that the organization runs smoothly behind the scenes so that the CEO can focus on external partnerships, development, and mission advancement. 

Support to the CEO:

  • Assist the CEO in managing daily organizational operations and follow-through on tasks and projects
  • Coordinate internal meetings, maintain schedules, and help prepare reports and presentations
  • Represent the organization in the CEO’s absence, when needed, for internal or community events
  • Handle administrative and logistical tasks to reduce operational load on the CEO

Staff Oversight & Leadership:

  • Directly supervise administrative and operational staff, providing daily support and guidance
  • Conduct check-ins and evaluations in coordination with the CEO
  • Foster a supportive and productive workplace culture aligned with the organization’s mission ensuring new people and ideas are supported and 

Grant Management & Reporting:

  • Assist with grant writing, tracking deadlines, and submitting reports
  • Maintain organized grant files, track data, and ensure grant compliance
  • Work with staff to collect relevant data and outcomes for reports

Building Operations & Administrative Oversight:

  • Act as Building Manager, responsible for maintenance, repairs, and safety of the physical space
  • Open and close the building as needed; ensure supplies and resources are available for staff
  • Manage payroll processing, petty cash, and general purchasing
  • Coordinate staff events, retreats, and celebrations

D2S Micro Transit Support:

  • Provide day-to-day oversight and operational support to the D2S Micro Transit program
  • Ensure coordination between Transportation Drivers, Scheduler, and leadership to maintain safe and efficient service

Community Engagement & Representation:

  • Attend community meetings and events on behalf of the organization when requested
  • Help maintain positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Flexibly support various organizational functions as needed to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of Four-Six (4-6) Years of Experience in programs and community resource management as well as non-profit management
  • Experience in leading business operations including finance, budgeting, and billing is preferred
  • Strong experience managing and leading a diverse team
  • Proven experience in case management, grant writing, and program management
  • Alignment with organizational culture and vision of the CEO
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Must have a Reliable Vehicle with Current Vehicle Insurance and Valid Driver’s License
  • Full-Time: Must be able to work 40 Hours per Week
  • Must work some Weekends and Evenings (flex to accommodate program schedule)
  • Hourly Pay Rate: Negotiable Based on Education & Experience
  • Knowledge of Indianapolis and Preferred Knowledge of Far Eastside / Eastside

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in an office setting for extended periods, including sitting, typing, and using office equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for event setup and teardown (e.g., tables, chairs, tents, signage, supplies).
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching while performing field duties.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain, as needed for fieldwork and events.
  • Comfortable driving to various locations for meetings, outreach, or event coordination.
  • Ability to set up and break down event spaces, including assembling and disassembling equipment.
  • Occasional long periods of standing and moving during events or field activities.
  • Ability to adapt to physically demanding situations and lift, push, or pull objects as required.
