The Collier Companies is seeking a Development Associate


The Development Associate is responsible for Assisting the Development team with the following tasks: project coordination for all aspects of entitlements through financing, design, marketing, construction, and leasing.  Work with municipalities and design consultants to develop project timelines.

Essential Functions:


  • Support project development through its entire life cycle, from acquisition to construction and final handover to Operations team.
  • Collaborate with and monitor performance of architects, engineers, general contractor, and third-party vendors during design, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Coordinate regulatory reviews and approvals required for entitlements and permits.
  • Assist with project pro forma, feasibility, market analysis, and budget from underwriting through project stabilization.
  • Assist in gathering due diligence reports and materials for development opportunities
  • Review cost proposals and budgets for accuracy; coordinate value-engineering to meet budget and scope objectives.
  • Prepare construction draw packages and provide accurate accounting of in-progress project costs.
  • Review and analyze construction plans for consistency and alignment,
  • Attend weekly project meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.
  • Provide support for acquisition, financing and, disposition process for multifamily developments
  • Support and develop systems and processes to streamline workplace efficiency.




  • Assist the construction team in anticipating and avoiding problems that may affect the construction schedule and/or budget.
  • Advise construction team of any potential impacts to project schedule or budget.
  • Coordinate with municipality for addressing/911.
  • Coordinate with any/all on-site utility service providers for development projects.


Additional Responsibilities:


  • Payment and tracking of invoices
  • Maintenance of cloud-based file system for various projects
