Principal Duty

Project Engineer 1 supports the Lead Project Engineer on complex integrated material handling systems. Under the supervision of the Lead Project Engineer, Project Engineer 1 works closely with all other internal disciplines within the project team, the customer, vendors, etc. to ensure the overall realization and success of the project.

Project Engineer 1 is responsible for completing all assigned technical tasks on time, on-budget, and with a high level of quality. This position requires high attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to apply industry experience and know-how on a daily basis. The Project Engineer makes use of acquired skills in material handling systems engineering to successfully meet project requirements.

Project Engineer 1 supports the assigned projects from the time of the sales handover to customer acceptance (realization phase).

Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Support role to the Lead Project Engineer within the project team.
  2. Responsible for the implementation of assigned project-specific tasks.
  3. Support role in the monitoring of the assigned project tasks to maintain budget, schedule and quality requirements; as well as knowing and complying with the technical contractual basis and agreed performance of the system.
  4. Project focus must be on customer satisfaction and obtaining or exceeding as sold profit margins in accordance to the project budget and schedule.
  5. Validation of the plausibility of technical solutions.
  6. Support role in monitoring the department’s and suppliers’ functional specifications and the overall layout on the basis of the contractually agreed performance.
  7. Ensuring compliance with the applicable safety and industry standards and guidelines so that a compliant system can be handed over to the customer.
  8. Active participation in layout creation and project-specific revisions with a focus on the integration of construction and suppliers’ equipment, proactive detection of collisions and close cooperation with the layout designer.
  9. Familiarity of and compliance with the TGW realization process and all other company regulations and guidelines.
  10. Assistance in the definition of supplier requirements, technical clarification of third-party equipment, and complete preparation for the subsequent supplier selection.
  11. Travel as required for project coordination activities, installation support, system commissioning, customer training, etc.
  12. Support in promoting information exchange between the members of the project team
  13. Participation in the definition, identification, and implementation of potential cost-saving activities.
  14. Heavily involved in the creation of system documentation such as system layouts.
  15. Implementation of TGW’s core values in daily work.

Requirements Profile

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related degree preferred; Associate's degree with related experience also accepted.
  2. 0-3 years of experience in material handling preferred.
  3. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  5. Travel required approximately 30%.
