The Fund for Public Health in New York City, (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

At DOHMH, the Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness (CHECW) aims to eliminate racial inequities resulting in premature mortality, with a focus on chronic disease, by addressing the social and environmental factors that impact health. CHECW works to increase placed-based investments in priority neighborhoods with community programming and services based on epidemiology; influence and leverage the health system to promote whole-person care; intensify the agency's approach to tackling big salt, sugar, and tobacco; and finding innovative ways to improve the built environment and address the social determinants of health and root causes of health inequities. CHECW is comprised of the Bureau of Brooklyn Neighborhood Health, the Bureau of Bronx Neighborhood Health, the Bureau of Harlem Neighborhood Health, the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention, the Bureau of Health Equity Capacity Building, the Bureau of Equitable Health Systems and the Bureau of Finance, Administration, and Services.

With funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, FPHNYC is hiring a Business Analyst (Salesforce) to support the Neighborhood Health Corps. The Neighborhood Health Corps, under the larger Public Health Corps, is a cadre of anti-racist public health workers and programs to address place-based inequities exacerbated by COVID-19. Through Neighborhood Health Corps, FPHNYC and DOHMH mobilize place-based community engagement via community health workers, anchored by community-based organizations with support and capacity-building from FPHNYC and DOHMH staff. The Neighborhood Health Corps will include 100 community-based organizations working with the City on vaccine education and outreach. This position will sit in the Bureau of Health Equity Capacity Building in CHECW.

FPHNYC received several grants that fund programs under the Neighborhood Health Corps umbrella, and CDC funding will support a central person to support various grant-funded programs addressing vaccine equity. This position will support a growing team managing the coordination and implementation of multiple grant programs focused on addressing health inequities exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic through partnerships with key community-based organizations in priority neighborhoods.
