Position Title: Development Operations Coordinator
Employment Classification: Temporary Full-time; Hourly; Non-Exempt
Reports to: Development Operations Manager
Department: Development

Position Summary: This is a temporary position starting in July 2022 to January 2023. The Development Operations Coordinator is supervised by the Development Operations Manager and works closely with the Development team to provide administrative support to assist in donor research, data analysis and stewardship of donors through implementation of the Donor Relationship Cycle (DRC) framework to deepen relationships and maximize contributions. The Development Operations Coordinator will be responsible for entering pertinent donor/donation information into the database, as well as updating, entering, and maintaining records and opportunities within Raisers Edge and perform other related duties as assigned. This position is data entry heavy and will require a keen eye for data quality, good organization skills in leading data cleanup projects, possess extreme attention to detail, and be adept at cross-department communications (both written and verbal).


Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage all aspects of Raisers Edge, inclusive of donor profiles, financial data, future and incoming gifts and serve as primary point of contact for all gift data.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Development staff on invoice processing, complex deferred multi-part donations, gift processing and monthly reconciliation, using Financial Edge.
  • Import and Export Data for reports in Constant Contact, Greater Giving, Causevox and Microsoft Excel.
  • Implement and lead appreciation and recognition strategies for donors and volunteers.
  • Research current donors and prospects to assist with increasing portfolios and revenue.
  • Supports Development Team with segmenting lists for communication, reporting and analysis.
  • Oversee various training and networking memberships for department to contribute to professional development.
  • Support intradepartmental team culture by fostering collaboration and learning, including coordinating activities, logistics, and materials for meetings.
  • Serve as liaison with various vendors.
  • Provide administrative support to Chief Development Officer and Development team as needed and assist with other projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Raisers Edge and NXT experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel skills required for data management.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and in self-directed situations.
  • Adept at handling confidential donor information with diplomacy.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Possess a valid California drivers license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, and drug screen.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Position may require use of personal vehicle. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending and lifting up to approximately 50 lbs. (i.e. tables, chairs, food, water, etc.)
