Position Overview:

Hundreds of publishers and brands want to partner with Nearpod to deliver their content. As Senior Manager, Partnerships & Licensing, you will oversee all aspects of our content partnerships and digital rights management. You will evaluate partnership opportunities, negotiate contracts, and oversee management of our partnership portfolio of over 50 partners. In the long term, you’ll work with the team to build a strategy and scalable process for partners to work with us. You’ll collaborate closely with our content team to ensure that all third party Intellectual Property in our lessons is done according to terms of our contracts.  As a member of the Content team reporting to the VP of Product Strategy, this role will manage a small team (currently one direct report). 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Own our content partnership strategy 

  • Evaluate and seek out partnership opportunities 

  • Negotiate contracts, coordinating closely with our legal and finance teams 

  • Oversee relationships with our existing content partner portfolio

  • Oversee royalty payments and data reporting for partners

  • Monitor and manage our relative royalty and licensing costs and seek out ways to optimize costs while ensuring partners continue to benefit  

 

Build our future partnership strategy

  • Collect, analyze and present data and market-driven insights regarding the impact of our partnerships

  • Develop a vision and strategy for what partnerships with Nearpod should look like and build a scalable process to achieve it

 

Oversee Digital Rights Management and licensing

  • Manage processes for all licenses and digital rights assets  

  • Work with the team to ensure that all 3rd party intellectual property in our lessons is in accordance with the terms of our contracts

  • Oversee periodic audits of 3rd party IP in our lessons


 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience building business partnerships 

  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts

  • Experience managing strategic projects

  • Strong desire to work on a mission-driven team 

  • Ability to oversee complex projects with many pieces

  • Extremely strong eye for detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Fluency in analyzing data

  • People management experience is a plus
