Description

American Academy (AA) KindiePrep is accepting resumes for a full-time KindiePrep Teacher Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year at our Lincoln Meadows campus. KindiePrep is a preschool program designed for children from ages three to five years old that prepares young children with an early foundation for educational success, emphasizing a whole-child approach to academics, social-emotional development and creative play. The Teacher Assistant reports to the Teacher and Director and is responsible for assisting the teacher in all activities associated with the care and education of the children enrolled.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the mission and philosophy of American Academy with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity.
  • Uphold and model American Academy’s Character and Manners programs.
  • Classroom Teacher Support: Complete daily tasks assigned by the teacher(s); Assist teachers with the set up and implementation of daily program activities; Assist with the management of the classroom; Assist in the organization and cleaning of classroom; Help ensure the safety of the children
  • Rest Time, Lunch Support and Administrative Tasks: Assist teachers with set up and implementation of rest time; Give extra support to the children on an as needed basis during lunchtime; Ensure that all children are safe during pick-up and drop-off; Assist teachers with any administrative tasks, as needed
  • Positive Contribution to the School Environment: Demonstrate initiative in personal achievements and team support; Maintain integrity with respect to hierarchy in the organization; Demonstrate professionalism, positive relationships with colleagues, children and families
  • Provide a safe, nurturing environment to ensure each child’s developmental growth
  • Work as a positive team member to provide an exceptional educational experience

 

Requirements:

  • Teacher qualified according to Colorado State Child Care Guidelines
  • Minimum of two 3-unit Early Childhood Education courses – with one being ECE 101
  • Or, be concurrently enrolled in two Early Childhood Education courses – with one being ECE 101
     

Preferred Experience:

  • Plus 24 months (3,640 hours) of verified experience
  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with at least six months documented experience in the ECE field
  • Preschool Core Knowledge Philosophy
  • Familiarity with a hands on, experiential science program
