Position Overview:

Nearpod is seeking a strategic, creative and data-driven Director of Growth Marketing to join our mission-driven company, lead teacher growth and own our digital channels. You and your team will be responsible for driving awareness, acquisition, engagement and retention of our teachers through both proven and experimental strategies. You will also lead our performance marketing efforts, website, and social media channels. You and your team will collaborate with the product team to generate sustained product usage and identify growth opportunities. 


Our Candidate Will:

  • Lead our teacher acquisition, activation, engagement, and conversion strategy

  • Manage and build a team of growth marketers who are responsible for teacher acquisition and engagement, social media, influencer marketing, performance marketing, content marketing, and website

  • Manage outside agencies that support our websites and performance marketing efforts

  • Working with the GTM Operations team, create a center of excellence for campaign deployment, including planning, execution, and reporting

  • Collaborate with product on the customer journey to ensure high activation and engagement with the Nearpod and Flocabulary platforms 

  • Collaborate with the Demand Generation team to drive new B2B pipeline and create awareness of Nearpod’s products through growth-owned channels (website, performance marketing)

  • Achieve our targets for teacher acquisition, activation, and revenue, as well as support achieving our targets for B2B pipeline

  • You have previous experience in B2C2B and/or SaaS companies with a focus on acquiring, activating, engaging and converting free users to paid subscribers 

  • You are an experienced marketer with deep understanding of email, website, and performance marketing channels and technologies

  • You want to make meaningful contributions to an organization committed to making students’ and teachers’ lives better

  • You understand the K-12 education industry 


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field; MBA a plus.

  • 7-10+ years experience in marketing, ideally within B2C2B / SaaS businesses

  • Experience in K-12 education (directly or working for a provider)

  • Demonstrated understanding of a Freemium business model

  • Previous experience managing a team of various levels, as well as agencies

  • Experience leading performance marketing, specifically SEM, paid social, and video

  • Proven track record of setting up and managing campaign processes and systems, including planning, deployment, and performance analysis

  • Experience using marketing automation systems (e.g. Pardot, Intercom, Braze) and CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) 

  • High level of comfort with analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager; Experience with Mixpanel and Tableau preferred

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive influence within the organization

  • Comfortable with being a leader and doer
