Full Time/NON-Safety Sensitive
  • On-site engineering support for business/private jet aircraft at Cuyahoga County Airport location
  • Responsible as engineering liaison for engineering issues (installations, modifications, repairs, damage evaluation) and engineering support (research, analysis, planning, integration, and testing) for interior/exterior installations for business/private jet fleet.
  • Engineering issues are mainly structural but some knowledge of electrical/avionics systems is a plus.
  • Generate change orders, create drawings and documents to support modification and installation of structural and system components on aircraft
  • Identify and coordinate material and structural repairs
  • Support planning and selection of equipment installation locations
  • Coordinate and monitor structural/mechanical aspects of project schedule with project managers
  • Develop cabin interior, systems and structural modification/installation work instructions, procedures and recommendations
  • Generate 3-D mock-ups of components and installations to test-fit prior to manufacturing
  • May assist in estimating, quoting and planning in support of aircraft modifications
  • Acts as a liaison between engineering and the aircraft integration/installation teams
  • Prior knowledge of installations, modifications and structural configurations of aircraft components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets and engineering drawings is required
  • Interface with and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and aircraft support teams
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS or BST) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (preferred)
  • 3+ years of Aviation Structural integration experience
  • Familiarity with repair and alteration methods identified in FAA AC 43.13
  • Familiar with fabrication and/or installation of basic structural systems in aircraft
  • Understanding of aircraft loads and load paths
  • Experience in static structural analysis calculations for installations
  • Familiar with standard aircraft assembly and modification shop practices
  • General knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (14 CFR Part 21, 23, 25, 145)
  • Ability to work in and around the aircraft and tight spaces (avionics bays, etc)
  • Travel on occasion
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced in mechanical design CAD package(s)
  • FAA Structural DER highly desired
  • Exposure to aircraft modifications (AMT, repairman, A&P, etc), FAA and aircraft OEM standard practices, and FAA certification
  • NCATT certification highly desired
