JOB DUTIES

  • Plans and directs training of student athletes

  • Assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position.

  • Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills

  • Provides skill demonstrations of sport coached.

  • Must be familiar with OSSAA and National Federation rules and regulations. 

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. 

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 

  • Performs a variety of tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear and to visually intercept visitors.

  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.

  • Regularly uses close and distance vision.

  • Work can be indoors in a temperature controlled, sealed office, studio, gymnasium or outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • May require a bachelor's degree in physical education or 4-6 years of coaching experience.

PREVIOUS RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 years playing and coaching experience

EXPECTATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE 

  • A familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures is essential.

  • Should be willing to participate outside of practice for student support and enrichment.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Must be able to coach in a style, which is organized, interactive, and student centered.

  • Must attend all games and practices.

  • Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties.

  • This position is not eligible for telecommuting.
