Job Description

The Social Media Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing social media strategies to enhance Metro Atlanta Chamber’s (MAC) owned and Atlanta Where You Belong (AWYB) social presence, engage with B2B and B2C audiences, and drive awareness. This role requires a creative and analytical professional who can manage social media campaigns, create compelling content, monitor community activity, and analyze performance metrics to optimize results.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with MAC and AWYB objectives.
    • Identify target audiences and appropriate social media platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
  2. Content Creation and Management:
    • Create, curate, and manage engaging content across all social media channels (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube).
    • Ensure consistency in brand voice, style, and messaging.
  3. Campaign Execution:
    • Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote growth and support of businesses and talent across Metro Atlanta.
    • Monitor and respond to social media interactions, fostering community engagement.
  4. Performance Analysis:
    • Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and native platform insights.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve performance.
  5. Trend Monitoring and Adaptation:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.
    • Adapt strategies to capitalize on emerging trends and technologies.
  6. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    • Work closely with marketing, design, and content teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.
    • Coordinate with other departments to support overall marketing efforts.
  7. Advertising and Promotion:
    • Manage social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, and performance tracking.
    • Optimize ad spend to maximize ROI.
  8. Crisis Management:
    • Handle social media crises and negative feedback professionally and effectively.
    • Develop and implement crisis communication plans as needed in coordination with strategic communications.
  9. Influencer and Partnership Management:
    • Identify and collaborate with influencers and brand advocates to amplify reach.
    • Manage relationships and agreements with social media partners.
  10. Continuous Improvement:
    • Test and refine social media strategies based on performance data and feedback.
    • Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current with industry advancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media marketing or digital marketing.
  • Proven track record of successful social media campaign management.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
  • Experience with social media advertising and analytics tools.
  • Creative thinker with strong visual and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in capturing content appropriate to social media
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
