Job Summary:
The Admissions Recruiter is responsible for the implementation of the admissions plan through recruiting strategies, and event attendance both on and off site. This position provides support to admissions through student enrollment, academic advising, and other recruitment/enrollment objectives as assigned by the Director of Student Enrollment and Success.

Job Duties:
Implement all aspects of the admissions recruitment, enrollment and retention plan
Make initial contacts to high schools and community organizations to initiate interest in the College
Make follow-up contacts to prospective students on a regular basis through, phone calls, e-mails, text messages, and letters
Maintain accurate records and follow up recruitment activities in admissions department databases
Travel and attend various events including; business visits, high school visits, college planning conferences, KACRAO annual admission conference, and any other school or community events that arise, (which may occur outside regular working hours and/or on weekends)
Assist with planning and implementing campus visits and event days, (which may occur outside regular working hours and/or on weekends)
Recruit students according to the standards, guidelines and practices established by the Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) and by the College.
Assist with the development of a recruitment program for returning adult students, including contacts with Business & Industry, Counselors, and students who complete their GED.
Assist with the development of recruiting materials, brochures, handouts, and other printed materials.
Assist other admissions representatives, faculty, coaches and/or activity sponsors with recruiting efforts.
Assist with updating student demographic and academic information in the admissions database.
Act as a liaison between assigned academic divisions and the Admissions Office.
Provide academic advising to new students, returning students, individually or in groups, about College policies, programs of study, and degree options. Provide students with information about alternatives and possible consequences of academic decisions Direct students on the navigation of student information systems such as Cowley Connect, Blackboard, and Cowley email.
Monitor student progress and follow-up as directed.
Manage and maintain accurate academic records and information in the Jenzabar EX Systems.
Keep current on advising and enrollment information.
Participate in active advising for assigned students, assist / provide students with graduation and transfer information including the degree applications.
Provide scholarship information and assistance with the application processes.
Serve as primary referral point for all student questions.
Evaluate student’s degree plan, transcripts while enrolling in proper classes.
Provide knowledge to students on information regarding course transfer ability and alternatives for continuing education opportunities.
Ability to work at other remote centers as necessary to assist when other centers/campuses are understaffed
Schedule and proctor tests for instructors/students, both from Cowley College and other Colleges.
Serve as contact to students for current program and other necessary information.
Provide student referrals to appropriate areas (Student Services, Disability Services, IMPACT, etc.).
Maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employees, vendors and/or any other representatives of external organization.
Comply with all College policies and procedures
Assist the Director of Student Enrollment and Success by performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain professional composure in stressful situations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Office 365, social media, Jenzabar EX, Google, and other databases.
Professional knowledge of community college and other postsecondary institutions.
Ability to research and analyze various types of information.
Ability to work independently, as well as on a team.
Ability to work and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to organize and prioritize work. Work well under deadline pressures.
Excellent human relations skills. Ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and diverse populations.
Understanding of and commitment to quality improvement.

Education Background:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.

Additional Experience:
Customer Service experience.
College Admissions, Recruiting and Advising experience, preferred.
Valid Driver’s License.

Supervisory Requirements: None.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ability to move freely around the campus, outreach centers, and regional locations; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; ability to bend, stoop, reach and grasp as required to perform responsibilities; ability to drive motor vehicle; and ability to work on the computer for long periods of time; motor vehicle travel.

Work Environment:
Work performed in an office environment, around campus and off-campus. Periods of intense travel, including weekends and evenings required.
