 Full Time Lead Program DSP.

P.I.L.O.T. Services is seeking a hands-on Full Time Lead Program DSP.  This position is located in Cherry Hill, NJ, and reports to the Residential Manager. Please see the requirements below. Primary responsibility is to work in the program of people with developmental disabilities, and be a support and to engage with them, always actively involved, making sure all programs and activities are carried out for the benefit of the persons served in the community.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: 
 

  • Develop and plan social and community activities;
  •  Supervise the program and assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Residential Manager;
  •  Communicate information regarding individual progress and concerns to the residential manager for the developmental purpose of Individual Service Plans;
  •  Participate in the developments of Individual Service Plans (ISP) by attending meetings;
  •  Maintain a safe environment by reporting any needed facility tasks to the residential manager;
  •  As part of a daily task, will review and make all necessary edits to the hours entered into the payroll system by the DSP’s;
  •  Develop schedules, and assist with shift coverage as necessary;
  •  Lead the acclimation of newly assigned DSP’s with regard to the home and the care of the individuals by completing on-site evaluation checklist and forwarding to the residential manager;
  •  Schedule house meetings and lead the meetings with the individuals in the home;
  •  Ensure that the DSP’s are maintaining housekeeping responsibilities, i.e., cleaning and organization of the home;
  •  Complete food shopping for the individuals in the home based on the information from house meetings;
  •  Support the Individuals with their spending of PNA funds;
  •  Ensure that receipts are received and maintained according to the agency policy and procedure;
  •  Review documentation from medical appointments to ensure that medical needs are being met;
  •  Ensure that daily assigned progress notes in THERAP are completed;
  •  Enter daily attendance into THERAP;
  •  Ensure that all DSP’s are completing and reviewing the daily communication log;
  •  Will cooperate with the Department of Human Services staff and P.I.L.O.T. investigation personnel in any investigation, inquiry, or inspection.
  • Complete Unusual Incident Reports; and
  • Complete all other program assignments, activities and tasks as delegated by the residential manager.

Compensation: 

$17.50

  • A verifiable High School Diploma required
  • Applicants are required to have at least one (1) year experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities who have challenging behaviors.
  • Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
  • A valid NJ driver's license
