Summary

The Network Administrator II is a member of the IT Infrastructure team. The position will primarily support day-to-day operations of the PlayCore network by ensuring its stability and expected performance. This role will also work closely with the rest of the team to ensure network migrations and refreshes are completed as expected, on time, and with technology that is appropriate for PlayCore’s business needs. Individual decision making, calculated risk-taking, and owning the resolution of support issues are keys to this role as well.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and maintain optimal network efficiency
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, patch management, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacements to ensure network reliability
  3. Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly, both independently and in collaboration with team members, while documenting troubleshooting steps and solutions
  4. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of network-related issues and manage vendor relationships effectively
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and best practices for network administration, disaster recovery, and security
  6. Collaborate with the IT team on network-related projects, including network upgrades, expansions, and migrations
  7. Must be available off hours when needs dictate 8. Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s degree, or equivalent, with 2 years of relevant work experience or 4 years of experience in network administration in a multi-site network environment
  • Strong knowledge of firewall management and security best practices
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Proficiency in network protocols, routing, and switching technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

 

Travel

  • Travel in this position is required. Expected travel is 20%. Travel up to a week at a time may be required.

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to effectively, and professionally, communicate through verbal and written means with employees of the organization.

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Computer Skills

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other mainstream IT management software.
