Director of Participant Support and Integration

What You’ll Do:

The Director of Participant Support and Integration will lead our department in welcoming, supporting, and integrating J1 cultural exchange teachers into our Ambassador Teacher program and help them adapt to life in the United States. This role involves managing a team and overseeing various cross departmental processes related to teacher onboarding, logistical support, and case management, as well as maintaining strong relationships with partner school districts. The ideal candidate will excel in problem solving, managing multiple priorities, and providing tailored support to meet the unique needs of our teachers. The Director will ensure a smooth integration process for teachers from diverse countries and backgrounds across various school districts and states.

Essential Functions

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire the Teacher Resources team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

  • Develop and execute strategies for onboarding and integration of Ambassador Teachers.

  • Oversee logistics including housing, transportation, and community connections.

  • Collaborate with the Product team to enhance the teacher experience based on feedback.

Team Oversight

  • Supervise the team responsible for teacher support and logistics.

  • Streamline processes to ensure efficient operations and continuous improvement.

  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Teacher Wellness Support:

  • Address teachers’ wellness needs by coordinating with internal and external resources.

  • Develop protocols for wellness support and ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Coordinate with relevant departments (HR, legal)  to create comprehensive wellness plans and ensure adherence to reporting directives mandated by the Department of State.

Process Oversight:

  • Manage key program aspects like orientation and teacher transitions.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Teacher Experience and Communications for seamless implementation.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner school districts.

  • Uphold high standards of service and promptly address any concerns.

Communication 

  • Communicate complex ideas and strategies clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including supervisors, peers, and team members.

  • Foster open dialogue and effectively address issues within the team.

Experience You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role
  • Successful track record in managing teams, setting clear goals, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrated ability developing  and implementing strategies aligned to team and company goals.

  • Experience in creating and implementing effective systems and processes.

  • Strong relationship management skills, particularly with public entities and educational institutions.

  • Excellent customer service and problem solving abilities.

  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to create inclusive environments.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.

Additional Skills

  • Understanding of U.S. educational practices and instructional support.
