POSITION SUMMARY

This entry-level individual will conduct research and generate reports on a wide range of healthcare information technologies/systems to provide procurement planning and system selection assistance to hospitals.  Responsibilities include gathering data on various types of departmental and enterprise-wide clinical information systems, interviewing users and stakeholders, and providing analysis and recommendations. This individual will also analyze and evaluate healthcare information technology price quotations from a financial and technical perspective to provide hospitals research and advisory services, including price negotiations.

Essential Functions Statements(s)

  • Analyze healthcare information technology price quotations from a financial perspective and provide hospitals a resource for price negotiations.
  • Create documents and reports using ECRI’s PricePaid™ Database to support price quotation analyses.
  • Create Market Intelligence and other custom reports summarizing pricing and other market data from internal and external resources.  
  • Review literature and user-experience data and write reports on new and emerging healthcare information technologies. 
  • Offer advice on the future of specific healthcare information technologies and its potential to be successfully implemented into the healthcare system in the future.
  • Train new clients on ECRI’s online services and customized reports.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • Experience with a GPO, healthcare provider, or distributor/manufacturer and experience working with IT systems a plus.
  • One year in a healthcare or supply chain environment (preferred).
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving skills, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, analyze and interpret data effectively, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Education: Bachelors’ degree in Business Management, Clinical/Medical Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics or Supply Chain preferred

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office 2016+
