What You Will Do:

The Guest Experience Coordinator (GECO) provides on-the-ground customer service and logistical support that allow our Conference and Retreat guests to focus on their special events. The Guest Experience team works to create a welcoming and professional space for all attendees. 

The Facilities Caretaker Level I is responsible for executing routine, emergency and seasonal maintenance as well as custodial duties of the NatureBridge historic buildings, staff housing units, and grounds within our campus at Ft. Cronkhite, in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. 

This position takes place at our campus in the Marin Headlands and cannot be performed remotely.

Your primary job will be:

Guest Experience Coordinator (60%)

 

Customer Service

  • Create a welcoming and safe environment for a variety of guests
  • Respond to the needs of guests, troubleshoot problems and help in urgent situations, including responding to our on-call urgent response number. 
  • Welcome guests to campus; conduct orientation talks with groups of up to 120 people.
  • Communicate with conference program organizers before and after programming; act as a primary point of contact for guests during their visit.

 

Logistical Support

  • Set-up, break down, and cleaning of event spaces.
  • Stock inventory, and clean and maintain conference supplies
  • Help guests with basic tech support, including projectors and internet. 
  • Support kitchen staff in set-up, service and clean-up for dining hall meals.
  • Act as a meal host and attend to guests, responding to questions and requests during meal services.

 

Teamwork

  • Demonstrate ability to self-supervise, manage time and take initiative to identify, prioritize and complete projects.
  • Provide occasional support in the kitchen and for environmental science education programs, as assigned by supervisor.

 

Caretaker (40%)

  • Maintain campus cleanliness and perform custodial duties, and maintain a clean, safe and orderly workshop and work area.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings and grounds.
  • Help train new staff in safety procedures/repair projects and maintenance.
  • Recommend long and short term maintenance, repairs, safety priorities and solutions to the Facilities Director.
  • Work effectively as a team member and provide great customer service. 
  • Attend and participate in weekly shop meetings and safety training(s).
  • Recognize and respect the historic character and value of campus while performing work assignments and maintenance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Compensation:

  • $17.00/hour

Qualifications

Who You Are:

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work various hours throughout each week, including weekdays, weekends, early and late shifts.  
  • Must be able to work well and maintain a positive attitude with other staff, National Park Service employees, program participants and visiting public.
  • Demonstrate good problem solving skills.
  • Flexible, positive attitude, good judgment, and safety consciousness.
  • Promptness and ability to work independently.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certification required.  If the applicant does not have this certification already, the applicant must attend certification training within the first three months.
  • Successful completion of ServSafe Food Handlers course within the first 30 days of employment (paid for by NatureBridge).
  • Prioritize daily tasks and guest requests through organization and time management.
  • Proficiency with or willingness to learn Google Suite.
