Principal Duty

The Solutions Designer carries out a variety of architectural assignments. This role provides services in the research, design, and development of automated material handling systems. The Solutions Designer collects and analyzes technical data from the customer to determine project requirements and prepares information regarding specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion times.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Analyzes customer data and deeply understands customer requirements and problems to solve.
  2. Defines the main parameters for the solutions design.
  3. Creates the Material flow diagram and the Performance Line Diagram of the project.
  4. Calculates the operator performance rates based on a MOST calculation (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique).
  5. Designs and optimizes a material handling solution based on customer requirements and main KPIs.
  6. Coordinates the system patents-proof for the selected concept with the patent department.
  7. Provides information to other departments for the simulation of the standard systems and the whole solution.
  8. Participates in the creation of the project proposal
  9. Understands basic material handling software functionality and ensures that the solution is feasible and compatible with TGW Software.
  10. Partners with sales to develop effective selling strategies and provide proper coordination and engineering to develop proposals in order to land orders.
  11. Utilizes and understands TGW Core Technologies CD, TGW Technical Application Bulletins, CAD drawings and exchanges this information with TGW associates and customers.
  12. Trains associates in the areas of material handling systems design and TGW product portfolio.

Requirements Profile

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred - Minimum 2 years of material handling systems design experience
    • Ability to analyze and understand customer business processes (overall knowledge of intralogistics)
    • Able to work in a multi-disciplinary and intercultural experts network
    • Good communication and presentation skills
  2. Advanced abilities in Excel, MSWord, and PowerPoint
  3. Basic knowledge in AutoCAD and Python preferred
  4. Willingness to travel domestically (less than 10%) and internationally (once per year about 1-2 weeks) for training and customer support
