Business Analyst
Job Details

As a Business Analyst for AMU, your primary role is to uncover the needs of our internal stakeholders to produce quality business applications. You will do this by gathering requirements from our stakeholders, understanding our current systems, partnering with developers to better define the technical requirements, leading prioritization sessions, and ultimately following a project through to implementation. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications


  • Partner with internal businesses (Publishing, Syndication, Finance, etc.) to define needs around systems, integrations, and applications.
  • Help establish, communicate, and maintain scope with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Act as a facilitator and a liaison between Business and developers for all aspects of business and product changes.
  • Coordinate with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Prepare documentation and technical specifications as required.
  • Evaluate business processes, perform requirements analysis, and identify areas of improvement.
  • Elicit requirements using a variety of methods including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, use cases, scenarios, and business workflow analysis.
  • Document requirements, process flows, system flows, etc.
  • Integrate with the project team to see a project through to completion.


  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on conveying technical issues in a non-technical manner.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Understanding of business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to simplify complex problems and systems into smaller and more consumable components.
  • Effectively work across departments with diplomacy and a firm understanding of others’ roles and perspectives.
  • Expertise in documenting functional, and non-functional requirements in a variety of ways (user stories, business process models, workflow diagrams, etc.).


  • 5-7 years of experience as a business analyst preferred
  • Preferred experience in finance or logistics applications OR other transactional based applications
  • Familiarity with Atlassian products such as Confluence and Jira a plus
