Position Overview: 

The Growth Marketing Manager, Flocabulary owns acquiring, activating, and retaining our teacher users. They will manage the teacher lifecycle from beginning to end through a variety of channels and tactics, including paid digital marketing, email communications, in-app messaging, and in-product experimentation. They will work both independently and in collaboration  with other stakeholders, such as product, product marketing, marketing channel owners (e.g., social, performance marketing), and customer success, to achieve objectives. 

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Acquire

    • Drive B2C (Flocabulary Lite) teacher trial sign-ups 

    • Work with performance marketing agency to plan and execute awareness and acquisition campaigns across digital advertising channels, such as paid social, paid search, and video

    • Collaborate with others (e.g., product marketing, website, social media), as well as work independently, to devise and run teacher acquisition strategies and campaigns (e.g., email campaigns, partnerships, content marketing)

    • Work closely with product marketing to plan and develop content to support our Flocabulary website and SEO strategy

  • Convert

    • Optimize Flocab Lite trial experience and nurture to increase conversion from trialist to customer

    • Retain Lite users through analysis churn drivers and implementation of churn reducing measures, working independently and with product team

  • Activate

    • Closely track and understand our B2C (Lite) and B2B (School/District) teacher activation metrics

    • Develop strong partnership with the product team to run in and out of product experiments that move the dial on activation rates

    • Develop deep understanding of the teacher journey to know what teachers need to successfully onboard and activate onto our platform across both B2C (Lite) and B2B (School/District) users

    • Run activation campaigns across email, in-app, and performance marketing channels

  • Engage and retain

    • Run lifecycle marketing campaigns and programs to keep B2C and B2B teachers engaged and get unengaged teachers back 

    • Develop approach based on customer data analysis, understanding of what makes teachers successful with Flocabulary, and understanding of teacher overall needs and cycles

  • Champion

    • Be an internal and external champion for Flocabulary

    • Develop deep understanding of the product, brand, positioning, customers, and mission

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Customer lifecycle marketing experience, ideally in the education and/or SaaS space

  • Experience with B2C2B marketing preferred

  • Performance marketing experience (paid social, SEM, video, display, retargeting, contextual)

  • Thrive in an environment that is fast paced and offers the opportunity to define and build from the ground up 

  • Strong influencer who is able to work with cross-functional stakeholders to build consensus and achieve a result

  • Resourceful - able to approach a problem in a variety of angles and work the resources at your disposal to get to a solution

  • Structured thinker who can take an ambiguous problem and develop a structured approach to tackling it

  • Strong at organization, time management and project management 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - strong copywriting abilities is a must

  • Make data informed decisions; very comfortable with data analysis. You don't have to be a data scientist, but you must know your way around a spreadsheet and other data visualization tools, such as Tableau

  • Experimentation mindset - you understand the basics of growth experiments and are naturally inquisitive

  • Knowledge of the following platforms and tools: Braze (or similar), Pardot (or similar), Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Wordpress  

  • Mission driven, believing in the importance of the work of educators and in the potential of every student
