Description

This role is responsible for supporting the customer on all automation related topics as well as supervising the day-to-day operations of the TGW resident technician team. The Resident Automation Technician Lead acts as a key liaison and escalation point for the customer on all automation and TGW personnel related topics. A strong overall knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls automation and software support, with the ability to provide technical support to the customer, are key skill sets for this role.

Based at a customer site in Oklahoma City, the Resident Automation Technician Lead must represent the TGW image at all times and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the shift point person between the supported facility and the Customer Services Hotline.
  2. Work closely with the LTS Account Manager and Site Manager to develop your team, helping to identify training needs, coordinating the shift work, approving hours and PTO.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer focus.
  4. Provide broad based electrical, mechanical and software technical ability along with a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve the sites performance.
  5. This is a hands-on, working leadership role.
  6. Work with customer on coordinated maintenance activities, planned repairs, and reactive repairs of the automated equipment.
  7. Drive and build upon continuous improvement through team and documentation.
  8. Support team training and site safety guidelines.
  9. Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, utilizing CMMS.
  10. Build a strong relationship with the customer operations team.
  11. Collaborate with broader Lifetime Services team to track, document and communicate issues and lessons learned.
  12. Ability to interface with customer at all levels.
  13. When making decisions always keep the customers operational needs in mind.
  14. After hours availability may be required.
  15. Attend requested customer meetings.

Requirements Profile

  1. Associate or Technical degree / certificate Mechatronics / Industrial Maintenance / Electrical Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  2. At least 5 years of experience working in an automated warehouse environment.
  3. Previous leadership experience preferred.
  4. Previous experience in high stress scenarios where conflict resolution and social skills are critical.
  5. Strong understanding of health and safety standards.
  6. Understanding of lean techniques and the ability to implement these techniques.
  7. Strong communication skills with a customer focus.
  8. Operationally focused with the ability to work in a time critical environment.
  9. Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
  10. Travel required up to 15% of the time
