Description

The Registered Staff Nurse assumes professional nursing responsibility and accountability within a designated time frame for the care and treatment of assigned patients through the Emergency Department. He/she prescribes nursing care utilizing the nursing process in the development of nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, delegates nursing care based on the competency of team members, coordinates care utilizing available resources and the environment. Interacts with other health care team members and/or disciplines in accordance with standard nursing practice and Henry County Medical Center policies. The ages of the patients served are neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Must complete triage and assessment documentation, patient education, and discharge education. Lifesaving efforts to orthopedic skills will be utilized in the ER. Interested candidates must have excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Registered Nurse licensed in Tennessee

 

EXPERIENCE:

BLS: All Clinical RN’s:

Employee must obtain Basic Life support (BLS) Certification with 6 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.  Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.

ACLS: Designated Charge RNs, Emergency Department RNs, Critical Care RNs, Women’s Center RNs, Operating Room RNs, Recovery Room RNs, Surgery RNs and Surgery Center RNs, Same Day Surgery RNs

 Employee must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.  Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.

PALS: 2 South RNs, Emergency Department RNs, Operating Room RNs, Recovery Room RNs, Same Day Surgery RNs, Surgery RNs, Preferred for Surgery Center RNs

Employee must obtain Pediatric Life Support (PALS) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.  Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action

CPI Training: Emergency Department RNs, Critical Care RNs, Behavioral Health Service areas,

Employee must obtain Crisis Prevention Institute Training within 9 months of hire and then maintain continuous readiness with renewal every 2 years throughout their employment.  Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program: Women’s Center RN

Employee must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.  Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action
