Job Objective:

To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the Transportation Department by performing necessary administrative duties. The position reports to the Director of Transportation, Facilities & Grounds, who evaluates performance annually.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission: Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.
  • Process telephone and electronic requests for home pick-up service and record on pick-up ticket, and reschedule pick-up service, as necessary.
  • Maintain log of completed pick-up tickets, drop box pickups, and material picked up from all sources, including agents.
  • Maintain records on store returns and salvage shipped, as well as storage trailer status.
  • Maintain records on all drop boxes placed and/or moved.
  • Enter, maintain and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly Transportation, Facilities & Grounds Department reports.
  • Track and maintain Warehouse inventory.
  • Prepare Bills of Lading.
  • Transcribe and publish Transportation department meeting minutes.
  • Perform general filing and transcription as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks for Production Department as requested.
  • Update and track time off calendar(s) for Facilities, Maintenance, Production and Transportation departments.
  • Act as liaison for CTE department for any donated automobiles.
  • Provide coverage for the Administration switchboard as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately type 60 words per minute.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Industrial plant floor with significant textile dust.
