The Marketing team is looking for a highly motivated and innovative Marketing Web Developer to join our team of passionate creators. In this role, you will be instrumental in bringing our evolving brand to life by delivering leading-edge digital experiences that will set Carnegie Learning apart. As such, youll need to be a creative risk-taker who makes the right technical and design decisions that will streamline processes, mitigate risks, solve problems, and deliver unforgettable user experiences.

We develop in JavaScript, PHP, CSS/Sass, MySQL, and ExpressionEngine. We currently leverage Guard to handle our pre-processor workflow and Bundler to manage packages (Sass/Compass, etc). We also use tools like Slack, XD, Jira, Asana, Github, Bamboo, Adobe Suite, and AWS.

This position reports to the Director of Marketing.



  • Work alongside our cross-functional team of Designers, Developers, Content Creators, and Production Specialists to own all aspects of our marketing websites while continuously delivering improvements and new features that empower our Sales Team

  • Find creative solutions to issues or requests using JavaScript, CSS/Sass, HTML, and ExpressionEngine and be willing to explore and present new ideas to improve processes and technologies such as workflows and performance optimizations

  • Be responsible for creating beautiful, pixel perfect responsive user experiences

  • Create landing pages and email templates in Marketo, and provide other technical support in our marketing automation system

  • Manage marketing site code deployments and releases while continually working to improve processes

  • Test, test, and then test again to ensure the quality and accuracy of your work

  • Analyze and report on web performance trends using tools like Google Analytics and Hot Jar



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills, patience, and a team player attitude

  • Experience managing your projects and seeing them through to completion

  • Experience and deep understanding of established web technologies, including HTML, CSS/Sass, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL

  • Experience working with a variety of Content Management Systems (ExpressionEngine experience is a plus)

  • Familiarity with using APIs

  • Experience with creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes

  • Ability to develop in a local environment (such as Vagrant or Docker) and be confident that the site will look and perform the same through multiple other environments, including QA and Production

  • Experience deploying code to cloud infrastructure

  • Experience with Object-oriented Programming principles that you can also apply within a PHP application
