- Establish and cultivate professional and positive working relationships with residents.
- Utilize evidence-based practice models including person centered planning, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approach are utilized.
- Complete regular and routine check-in’s of resident and inspections of the facility, including nightly bed counts
- Ensure compliance with all health, fire, and safety codes, ensure timely handling of all violations, prevent violations whenever possible.
- Participate in staff meetings where resident issues, operations, policies, procedures, and program outcomes are discussed.
- Cofacilitate and participate in groups/workshops with clinical staff
- Assist in the monitoring and development of resident’s daily independent living skills (individually or in groups)
- Conduct intakes during evenings, overnights, and weekends as needed.
- Document in CARES intake system and ensure all clients are admitted in a timely fashion.
- Provide daily food service (heat and serve) and ensure food delivery is stored immediately.
- Manage operations desk: ensure documentation of client whereabouts, answer phones when necessary.
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the building and monitor common areas.
- Work collaboratively with building staff to assist tenants and ensure tenant safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of applicable experience in shelter or residential setting preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.
- Food Protection Certificate will be required.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, to prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols strongly preferred.
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy, discretion, patience and understanding.
- Must be able to multitask with strong organizational skills.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Prior work experience with homeless/ mentally ill individuals is helpful, but not required
- Detail orientated and systems savvy.

- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, OneDrive Excel, etc.
- Able to use or learn multiple databases including CARES.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent bending, kneeling, walking, climbing, and lifting to 50 lbs.
