Description

 

As part of the International Fixed Income team, the Sovereign Analyst will be responsible for supporting the investment team by conducting fundamental sovereign research and help in reporting.  He/she will perform macroeconomic and credit analyses of sovereign countries and will update and maintain existing spreadsheets, models and reports.

 

Job Functions

 

  • Analyze international policy developments and assess the creditworthiness of sovereign governments globally, focusing on both developed markets and emerging markets countries.
  • Identify economic, political, and market risk factors that impact external and local bond and fx returns and communicate relevant analysis to portfolio managers.
  • Update and maintain existing fundamental reports, models and spreadsheets.
  • Produce month-end and quarter-end reports.
  • Participate in discussions with senior government officials, private sector representatives and rating agencies.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-7 years sovereign credit analysis is preferred.
  • CFA or candidacy is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with third-party data providers (e.g. Bloomberg).
  • Ability to present investment ideas effectively and clearly.
  • Ability to prioritize time and tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Outstanding initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, but able to work independently.
  • Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.

 

 

Base Salary Range

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $165,000. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
