Position: Temporary Food Service Worker

Reports To: Director of Dinning Services
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: The Temporary Food Service Worker position will work according to the academic year schedule. The Temporary Food Service Workers will be cross-trained for the line display, cooking food according to recipes, and making a one-on-one connection with the student, faculty, staff, and guest. After one year of service the Temp employee will be eligible for a Full-Time position in the Phillips Dinning Hall
Essential Functions:
- Use a Computer
- Make monetary change
- Work quickly and concisely under pressure
- Ensure storage of food in a proper and sanitary manner
- Organize and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment at the regularly scheduled intervals
- Ensure food items and supplies are checked in as they arrive
- Ensure daily cleaning and sterilization of all dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils
- Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Serve food at proper portions as requested
- Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use
- Bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastries
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Foodservice Sanitation Certificate as needed
- High School diploma/GED
