The Retention Coach is a critical member of our Ministry, serving on the Next Steps Team, ensuring clients' employment retention through supporting, advising, and reinforcing key training lessons to build client solutions to any barriers.

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Maintains relationship/communication with employed clients, including regular one-on-one meetings to assess and address any needs
  • Encourages and motivates employed clients to reach their personal and professional goals
  • Builds trust and works with clients to slow down and connect them to the big picture of their definition of success
  • Collaborates with Atlanta Mission’s corporate employment partners to ensure top-rate retention and continued partnership with hiring companies
  • Utilizes outreach tactics outlined in the curriculum in order to ensure clients remain engaged with Atlanta Mission after moving into housing
  • Assists clients with issues related to finances which includes budgeting and navigating resources when financial assistance is needed
  • Holds responsibility for the job retention of clients for at least 1 year
  • Maintains internal processing database to document work activity, client progress, and communications with all clients
  • Prepares individual outcome reports, upholding a high standard of data integrity

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of  2 years of professional experience
  • Skilled in personal coaching in a one-on-one and group setting
  • Experience working with economically-disadvantaged populations
  • Ability to organizes and prioritizes workload to ensure client’s needs are met in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to have flexible, unconventional hours to meet clients where they are and accommodate work schedules
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting, and/or walking)
  • Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator, and computer printer
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors, to adjust focus and maintain close and distant vision

 

Special job Requirements:

  • Travel to Chicago for training with Cara Chicago bi-annually with Next Steps Team
  • Travel to various locations in the city and to clients’ work locations, as needed
