**This position can be based in Chicagoland or Denver Metropolitan area

This position has the primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, managing of all the finance and information technology activities for the organization.  The CFO will lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting while driving initiatives to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and maximize profitability. This role will possess a blend of financial expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and collaborative leadership to drive innovation and growth.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance

  • Supports, promotes and complies with the goals, and objectives of George J. Priester Aviation’s Safety Management System and Quality Management Systems.
  • Overall administrative responsibilities for Accounting, Treasury and IT Functions.
  • Supervises all accounting functions including general and cost accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and taxes.
  • Treasury functions including banking relations, cash management, insurance administration in conjunction with the Chief Talent Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Safeguards company assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Plays a key role in development and management of budget.
  • Direct and supervise the maintenance of the company chart of accounts, the allocations of costs and create new departments or cost centers as necessary.
  • Oversight and mentorship of accounting department personnel continuing education process.
  • Sales and Operating Plan financial oversight for accounting department.
  • Coordinates the execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Oversight of related company activities, financial statements and producing consolidated financial statements with applicable eliminating entries.

Tax Compliance/Audit

  • Direct and supervise the communication and coordination with the IRS when the company receives written notices or has IRS audits.
  • Preparation Federal and State income tax returns.  Supervise preparation of Federal Excise taxes, Form 1099 and other miscellaneous taxes.
  • Oversee federal tax return compliance (FET, INS, APHIS, CANADIAN, etc.) and monthly sales tax return compliance for related companies.
  • Provide information to and coordinate the external preparation and audit of information for corporate tax returns and financial statements.
  • Keep abreast of current tax law for S-Corp’s, Limited Liability Companies, partnerships, and Individuals by attending tax classes.

Information Technology

  • Responsible for planning the information technology future for the organization.
  • Provide support or direct management for the implementation and maintenance of current systems in coordination with system owners.
  • Responsibility and oversight of IT service provider contact and service levels.
  • Provides oversight and guidance for the maintenance, licensing, and purchase of all information technology software systems.
  • Coordinate with business partners and develop strategies to implement various IT solutions effectively.
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of company information technology policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide detailed analysis to CEO when special projects are assigned.
  • Review all liability insurance policies and coordinate renewals.

Education or formal training

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.  CPA preferred.
  • Information Technology coursework preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in accounting/finance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in an information technology leadership role
  • Microsoft Dynamics Business Central software or similar cloud-based ERP system is a highly desired.
  • Aviation Industry experience is a plus.

This is an exempt position which requires flexibility to meet the demands of the business.
