Position Summary:

Simon Pearce Restaurant Servers interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining with us. Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests, answer any questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon request
  • Take orders from guests by writing orders on slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff
  • Check guest identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Mis/marks tables correctly for each course. All appropriate silverware is on the table before the food/beverages arrive.
  • Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses, and pour the wines for customers
  • Clear tables and takes dishes to kitchen for cleaning following our guidelines for excellent service
  • Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales tax
  • Collect payments from guests
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as co ee, food, tableware, and linens
  • Support other team members when needed to provide a positive and organized atmosphere for all guests
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in restaurant cleaning during annual shutdown

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of and interest in the food industry, including wine experience
  • Clear communication skills and ability to convey information effectively
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • High level of accuracy
