Job Summary
The Division of Student Affairs at Lane College is looking for an experienced, caring, and committed professional to provide individual and group counseling services and assist with the College's support services for students with disabilities.
Under the supervision of the Director of Counseling/Disability Support Services the College Counselor will provide a broad range of counseling and psychological services to students including diagnostic assessment and evaluation, individual mental health counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, and outreach programming and training. The College Counselor will provide workshops/training on general mental health issues, relationship issues, and training to the Lane College community. We seek a dedicated individual who is willing to work one-on-one and in group settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide students with confidential individual and group counseling as well as assistance with college resources and services to be academically successful. Assists individuals in understanding and overcoming social, emotional, and developmental issues.
- Assist the Director of Counseling/Disability Support Services in identifying reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
- Provide crisis intervention and support, including assessing any potential threats a student may present to him/herself or others.
- Facilitate programming to promote the development and success of all students.
- Participates in campus-wide outreach programming and education.
- Serves on committees as appropriate and as appointed by supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
