The Atlanta Mission desires for every volunteer who serves to feel valued, equipped, appreciated, and fulfilled during their service. The Volunteer Relationship Manager serves within our ministry by managing volunteers and partners who provide strategic support and services to Atlanta Mission clients and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and coordinatewith key staff teams to understand current services, client needs, program needs, and how volunteers could support their work
  • Works with requesting departments to develop job descriptions, outline expectations, and develop training resources for volunteer roles
  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, equipping, and leading volunteers serving in assigned ministry areas across multiple campuses
  • Responsible for providing leadership and support to volunteer leaders who are leading their own volunteer teams serving Atlanta Mission campuses
  • Orients new volunteers to campus facilities and supports the receiving department with the onboarding process
  • Supports the management, coordination, and scheduling of volunteers serving in assigned ministry areas
  • Regularly recognize volunteers and execute stewardship plans to ensure volunteer appreciation, satisfaction, and retention
  • Supports organizational volunteer needs assessment initiative
  • Ensures up-to-date information on volunteer needs is captured and in the queue for recruiting
  • Responsible for reporting volunteer hours and activities in Volunteer and Donor Management Software
  • Conducts check-in meetings with volunteers to evaluate performance, satisfaction and further equipping opportunities
  • Maintains training material templates for receiving departments
  • Respond to contact forms, voice messages, and email inquiries in a timely manner
  • Promotes the use of the Volunteer Management System for the tracking, training, and opportunity assignment of volunteers
  • Responsible for the development and updating of training content for volunteers in assigned ministry areas
  • Leads multi-channel communication planning and execution
  • Support ministry-wide events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Experience recruiting, selecting, training and leading volunteers
  • Experience managing a medium to large scale volunteer program
  • Computer proficiency with MS Outlook, Office, and Word; familiarity with web-based systems for client, donor, and volunteer data management
  • Experience with Salesforce, VolunteerHub and/or Asana is a plus
  • Self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively with a team

 

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking)
  • Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs
