Job Description:

The Manager, Maintenance Control is responsible for the management, administration of Maintenance Control and ensuring Maintenance Control personnel are properly trained and qualified.

 

Summary of Essential Duties:

  • Ensure safety and compliance are the first considerations in aircraft operations.
  • Monitors maintenance performance of all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft operations.
  • Reports essential information as to the status of operation aircraft.
  • Ensures Maintenance Control coordinates with Flight Followers/Dispatch concerning all maintenance irregularities that affect the dispatching of aircraft.
  • Responsible for the proper administration of MEL/CDL/NEF procedures as established in the General Maintenance Manual and MEL Manual.
  • Coordinates with Regional Maintenance Managers, outstation maintenance technicians and Maintenance Providers to ensure mechanical irregularities are corrected in accordance with the Company Manuals.
  • Ensures data in the pilot reports, ferry flights, SDR, MIS, delays and cancellations, etc. is recorded accurately in the maintenance information software.
  • Ensures that events that require Service Difficulty Reports (SDR) are properly identified in FOS and that the DOM is notified.
  • Confirms all work performed on Company aircraft is accomplished by qualified, authorized and approved personnel.
  • Provides leadership and training to Maintenance Controllers, as required.
  • Monitors staffing levels within Maintenance Control to ensure 24/7 coverage of the operation.
  • Authorizes Ferry Flights and MEL Extensions
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 23 years of age.
  • Hold a Mechanic’s Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a position responsible for returning aircraft to service.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as used by Contour Airlines.
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft, manuals, maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations as they relate to aircraft maintenance.
  • FAR Part 121 operational experience preferred
  • Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft office suite.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Quantum, FOS, and CAMP software is a strong plus.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests.
  • Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand complicated logistical information
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess the ability to accomplish duties in a manner that adheres to regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, local, and federal regulations.
