competencies: To perform the job successfully, the Director of Financial Planning And Analysis must:
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be able to interact with people at several different levels in the university, both with and without any experience with financial reporting or budgeting, in a professional manner.
- Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, trend analysis and problem solving through modeling.
- Be comfortable learning and configuring new software systems to best suit the University’s needs.
- Have excellent Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to research complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, investment banking, or a similar role.
- Expert financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset.
