Located in Minonk, Illinois, SMF an Etnyre International Company is a full-service metal manufacturing facility that specializes in heavy and light fabrication for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). We are currently looking for experienced and energetic Powder Coat Painter who enjoy their profession to join our 1st, 2nd  and 3rd shift. team.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Cleans, preps, paints, cures, and packages finished parts for shipment according to work order, quality, and safety specifications.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Cleans parts using various hand and powered hand tools to remove metal slag or finish surface debris, ensuring parts are cleaned to work order specifications when needed. 
  • Washes parts using a wash booth or chemical solvents to remove all debris in preparation for painting.
  • Prep parts for coating, to include masking, sanding, and hanging
  • Apply paint powder to parts that pass through the paint booth, making sure the quality of the paint is maintained
  • Operate and maintain the cure oven
  • Repeatedly inspects work to ensure quality of product.
  • Records accurate labor records.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Performs all work maintaining quality standards.
  • Performs all work in a safe manner by wearing proper PPE for each job and adhering to safety regulations and standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years equivalent experience in steel manufacturing industry
  • Completion of all required production, quality, and safety training
  • Some bending, twisting, and stooping required. Some manual lifting duties will occasionally require lifting to 50lbs. All loads weighing over 50lbs must be completed with use of overhead or jib crane in conjunction with attached lifting devices.
