The Advisory Services Group of a growing advisory firm located in St. Louis, MO is seeking a professional, dynamic, and energetic individual to lead the firm’s analytics practice.


The individual selected for this position must have an entrepreneurial drive and the ability to add value to the firm beyond the strict definition of the position. In addition, the individual must have the ability to develop and execute strategy to grow the analytics practice while leading, managing and training personnel within the Advisory Services Group.


This role is a client-facing role focusing on solving client business issues leveraging the latest data and analytics technologies. This position will build a team of consultants delivering analytics solutions with responsibilities including business development, team leadership, project management, and technical delivery of analytics-based business solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define a vision for analytics consulting services aligned with the firm’s vision, mission and core values.
  • Collaborate with clients to implement data analytic solutions across various industries and sizes of companies.
  • Develop strategies to incorporate data analytics into business processes based on the questions and problems the business is seeking to solve.
  • Participate with strategic discussions on current future analytical strategies to advance the Firm’s data analytic opportunities and service lines.
  • Provide leadership to analysts and developers.
  • Design and build relational databases for data storage or processing.
  • Develop strategies for leveraging advances in Microsoft analytics technologies via the Firm’s Microsoft Gold Partnership
  • Develop solutions for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition and access, and data archiving and recovery.
  • Build data models and define the structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements. Evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration.
  • Work on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings and discussions to elicit business, process, and analytical requirements to define and deliver analytical solutions and guidance
  • Establish relationships and work closely with managers at all levels without supervision
  • Articulate the problem statement and drive solutions for tactical and strategic enterprise analytical and business capabilities
  • Monitor engagements to ensure work is on schedule and on budget
  • Able to supervise multiple engagements at once
  • Serve as the primary contact with key decision makers of the client organization
  • Demonstrate the ability to negotiate fees and change orders or out of scope situations

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Management and Information Systems or Computer Science or Analytics (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience developing and optimizing data warehousing architectures and Business Intelligence platforms
  • Experience in a client-facing role  

Working Conditions

  • Normal office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with occasional longer hours required during scheduled events.
  • This position is an office or remote position, ideally located within driving distance of St. Louis.
  • Occasional overtime may be required as well as flexibility in working hours.
